An April Fool's Day Prank

Comedy Central Denmark wanted to use April 1st to make an April Fool's Day prank, targeting their local community in Denmark. The aim was to raise awareness of the channel's popular cult series, South Park.

It required a quirky and creative idea that could cut through the media noise of countless other April Fool's Day pranks. Furthermore, the prank had to be credible enough for the community to believe it.

02 Solution

South Park in Danish!

We developed a funny story that was both quick to execute and could easily be shared in order to create buzz on Comedy Central's own social channels: South Park with Danish voices made by Rene Dif - member of the Danish band Aqua.

We launched the April Fool's Day prank with a press release, describing how South Park would re-launch in Danish by Aqua star René Dif. We teamed up with Rene Dif and made a short video with his voices which was shared on Facebook and with media.


Results

100,000 saw the post on Facebook - without advertising

+ 500 positive comments and a huge buzz on Comedy Central's Facebook page
